ST. LOUIS COUNTY • A woman who tried to rob a smoke shop at knifepoint settled for running off with a tip jar after her attempts to get the money from the cash register failed, police say.
Her total take? Coins totaling $7.50, according to police.
Lori A. Sisak, 29, of San Marcos Drive in Fenton, was charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action Tuesday in the Jan. 12 robbery.
Police say Sisak walked into the Smoke Sensations shop at 10532 Page Avenue about 8:25 p.m. that Saturday night armed with a knife. She demanded money from the register, but the cashier said she couldn't open the register unless Sisak bought something.
Sisak grabbed the tip jar from the counter and ran off, police said.
She's being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
