A letter sent to us by an anonymous source regarding the kratom export ban in Indonesia.

"We wanted to inform you, that since 25th Feb 2013 all Kratom exports have been suspended from Indonesia. It’s not clear at this stage however we were quoted from DHL Jakarta the following:

Ministry of Food and Drug (BPPOM) issued A restriction letter to the quarantine office to not issued any quarantine certificate for this type of commodity for temporary. But I don't have the exact information since I think it still under review.

In addition to the above it has been confirmed by several Kratom farmers they are not permitted to send Kratom products at this time.

We do not know how long this restriction will be enforced however some of the largest US Kratom suppliers are out of stock.

As 95% of the worlds Kratom comes out of Indonesia we predict an inevitable world shortage looms."

Thieves steal pricey hand blown glass pipes from smoke shops in Englewood, Denver smoke shops. Multiple burglaries happen in the same area around the same time all targeting smoke shops. Police claim this smash and grab is part of the same crew who is targeting stealing expensive pipes rather than cash at smoke shops.

Thieves smashed a window at Smoke Signals, located at 2880 S. Broadway in Englewood and stole at least 10 pipes, police said. At 4:01 a.m., thieves unsuccessfully tried to break into Headed West at 4811 S. South Broadway in Englewood, police said.

Earlier in the morning, someone smashed a window at Purple Haze Smoke Shop at 1355 Santa Fe Drive in Denver and stole a laptop and an unknown number of pipes, an employee told 7NEWS.

About 3 a.m., someone tried to break into another Purple Haze store at 1951 S. Broadway in Denver.

So turns out that this lady in St. Louis County tried to rob a smoke shop and demanded the cashier to open the cash register. Cashier said she had to buy something for her to open the drawer. Our genius thief decides to steal the tip jar worth $7.50 and now she's in jail with a $50,000 bond.

A standoff with Houston police officers ended around 7:15 p.m. Monday at an east Houston smoke shop where an attempted robber was believed to be inside.

The owner at the Northshore Video & Smoke Shop said three robbers tried to hold him up around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. But he ducked behind the counter and grabbed his gun.
